Usage of Field key to help choosing entries in SAP System  (By Changqing Chen)

In the SAP system, if some text of the field has duplicate items or unclear descriptions, you can use the field key to help choosing the correct entry.

For example: if you are using Tcode: XD01 to Create Customer Master, you may come into the circumstances below:

In this screen, there is several “Sold-to party” with possibly different account groups which is hard to differentiate, because the field key (4-digit identifier) is missing. The question arises which one to choose to create a right customer master.

Sometimes it is easier to see the 4-digit account group key for choosing the right account group.

To make it appear in the dropdown menu, In the main menu choose this icon(in red circle in below picture) or press Alt+F12(Customize local layout)à(options) à (Expert)à (Controls), check (Show Keys in All Dropdown Lists), then the keys will be shown.

After this setting, if you see the screen before, the key will be shown.
