The challenge for SAP is that a large number of emerging technologies only run on the latest version of SAP: SOA on ERP 6.0 and the Business Warehouse Accelerator on BW 7.0; the new improved WebUI of CRM 6.0 and 7.0.

The challenge for the IT professional is to justify such an upgrade in terms of cold hard cash and to demonstrate a ROI. The global recession of 2009, which seems to be slowly lifting in 2010, has ensured that many upgrades that would have happened in 2009 have been pushed to 2010.

Those companies who didn’t yet upgrade to the newest SAP version of their system, but also those who upgraded already, need to be steadily informed about new features of present SAP solutions.

In this seminar you are informed about the Solution Manager for installation of the Enhancement Packages (EhP). Enhancement packages are optionally installed software innovations. Packages include functional enhancements, industry-specific functionality, and simplifications such as user-interface simplifications. With enhancement packages, you can adopt ongoing SAP software innovations at a lower cost than full upgrade projects. In addition, enterprise services are delivered with enhancement packages.

Starting with SAP enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 and SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 the SAP Enhancement Package Installer (SAPehpi) is the standard tool which is used for the SAP enhancement package implementation, which will be presented in a second speech.
